Literature Text

Living my life like it's my last,
There's no turning back to the past,

Alone I fly the streets at night,
My mind alert for what may be my next fight,

The back of my head haunts me, will I live for tomorrow?
Did I grieve enough for my sorrow?

Powerful foes surround me, great allies depart me,
I can only tell you how fast this heart beats

They call me Dominick, the indomitable spirit,
Courage and determination are what I need to always inherit,

Idle tears, I'm lost to what they mean,
Depths of some divine despair it might seem,
No matter how bright the dawning sun beams,
It obscures my self esteem
What goes on through the mind of a certain one.
